Female Bodybuilding Myth #4 – When women stop bodybuilding and weight training, their muscles turn into fat.
Truth – Again, fat and muscle are two completely different kinds of tissues. One cannot turn into the other. What happens is when someone goes off their weight training and body building programs; they usually stop the aerobics program and healthy dieting as well. This causes the loss of muscles due to inactivity and fat gain due to unhealthy eating habits and lack of exercise. Again, two different processes occurring simultaneously.
Female Bodybuilding Myth #5- Women should only do cardio and only lift weights that are very light.
Truth – Doing only cardio burns your muscle and fat for fuel. It is important for women to do weights to prevent muscle loss. Women who did only cardio during their female fitness routine, may succeed in losing weight but will find it very difficult to achieve the sculpted look they desire. This can only be achieved through weight training. Muscle responds and reacts to resistance, so the heavier the weights the more muscle you gain, and the more toned and sculpted you’ll look.
